Allotments are great places for wildlife

Allotments create an extraordinary number of different habitats and niches in which wildlife can thrive. Of course one or two are not quite so welcome - the pests that nibble the produce and the rats and mice that nibble just about everything!

These aside, Barton Lane has a large number of birds, insects, butterflies and amphibia. Hopefully, these images give a flavour of what can be seen.
